Forest Heights is a densely populated neighbourhood located on the west end of Kitchener with a variety of styles ranging from bungalows to two-storey homes. With plenty of attractive homes situated on tree-lined winding streets and crescents, it’s easy to call this neighbourhood home. This neighbourhood is considered one of the best neighbourhoods for buying a home single detached home, with a real estate ratio of approximately 90% ownership to 10% rental units. New home construction is still underway for some areas in the neighbourhood, but with the majority of homes in the area dating back to the 1970s and 80s, Forest Heights is considered to be a bit older and more established than many neighbourhoods in the Region. This neighbourhood is a prime location for anyone moving into the area, but particularly families.

It’s easy to see why residents choose to stay in this neighbourhood. Parks and trails are abundant, including Westheights Park; located at the center of the neighbourhood offering a forest, pond, and several sports field bound to keep you or your family active. Plenty of trails throughout the neighbourhood are interconnected as well to provide easy transportation for bicyclists and pedestrians alike.

Shopping and restaurants are plentiful in Forest Heights; by being strategically located between several major shopping malls including Sunrise Mall, Highland Hills, and The Boardwalk. Recreational activities are easy to come by too. Centred around Highland Hills Mall residents can find Forest Heights Community Library and community pool, as well as Forest Heights Community Center.

With so many families in the area, Forest Heights boasts plenty of Catholic and Public schools. Public schools include Meadowland Public School, John Darling Public School, and Driftwood Public School for grades JK-6; Westheights Public School for grades 7 and 8; and Forest Heights Collegiate Institute for high school. Catholic schools in the area include St. Marks Catholic Elementary School and St Paul Catholic Elementary School for grades JK-8 and Resurrection Catholic Secondary School for high school students.
