Brigadoon is a southern area of Kitchener that has seen a lot of development in the past 10-20 years. Built to accommodate growing families, the homes tend to be larger and surrounded by mature trees on a dense network of streets and cul de sacs. This upper to middle income neighbourhood borders Huron Road and Homer Watson Road on the north side, with farmland and forest on the south. The neighbourhood has an active community association to ensure the many young families in the neighbourhood will find their sense of community.
Nature areas are abundant in Brigadoon, including Brigadoon woods, Strasburg Creek, and Brigadoon creek lake. Not to be forgotten, Heartwood Drive trail is also close by. Residents are also just a short distance from the Doon Pioneer Park Community Center.
Public school students in the area of Brigadoon can look forward to attending Brigadoon P.S. for JK-6 before attending Doon P.S. for grades 7 through 8. Lastly, they will attend Huron Heights S.S. to complete their highschool education. Catholic school students will attend St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Elementary School before attending St. Mary’s Secondary School for their high school education.
