My Experience
I was born and raised in Stratford, a stunning theatre town of just 32,000 people. I started my work life at the wee age of 14, working hard as a busser at Rundles, a traditional French restaurant located in the downtown core. The Rundles service philosophy was simple: if the customer had to ask for it, we had not done our job correctly. I quickly learned how to anticipate the needs of our clientele and stay one step ahead by utilizing the collective knowledge of the team. It’s no coincidence that after studying Communication Design at OCAD University in Toronto and graduating with a Bachelor of Design in 2012, I have consistently gravitated toward companies and projects that involve understanding and designing meaningful experiences for others. Taking my education further, after graduation I spent three months traveling Europe, exposing myself to new languages, foods, and ways of living. I stayed in AirBnBs owned by locals and picked up some tips and tricks for using space more effectively. After spending nearly a decade in the marketing and design world on projects that ranged from television commercials to national ad campaigns, helping entrepreneurs get their start with unified branding and even managing the future designs of European-influenced recreational vehicles, I obtained my real estate license to marry my design background with my passion for real estate, ultimately landing in the most forward-thinking brokerage in the region: TrilliumWest. I am incredibly fortunate that I get to meet a diverse range of people in this career and help them make the best real estate decisions for themselves.
My Approach
It’s rare that a person wakes up one day and proclaims to themself “I think I’ll buy a house today.” Real estate is a needs-driven business: you either need to own real estate or you need to offload or repurpose the real estate you own. As such, no one should receive generic treatment, cookie-cutter solutions, or scripted conversations. With me, your real estate process will be as unique as you and my ultimate goal is to create a positive, unforgettable experience. Your client journey begins with an in-depth discovery session, where together we will talk about the hard work that got you to where you are now, how your current living arrangements do and do not support your lifestyle, and do a deep-dive into your goals to make sure wherever you land is going to properly support your future. As a seller, we follow a similar path with an added focus on your home’s journey; that’s right, every home has a story too! At this point, time is of the essence. From the discovery session, I build a personalized, comprehensive road map to maximize your valuable free time and get you to the finish line feeling just as excited as when you started. I lead from the heart in everything I do, and I work hard to stay one step ahead. I will prepare you for the entire journey, answer questions as they arise, celebrate your wins, and support you even after you’ve made the big move. Once the dust has settled, please don’t be a stranger! I absolutely love hearing stories and seeing photos of spaces and lives transformed.
My Difference
For the latter half of my design career, I worked on projects that involved a heavy amount of psychology research to understand how an experience is encoded into the brain and body through emotion. Few people talk about this when developing a real estate plan, but emotion is the driving force behind decision-making, consciously and subconsciously, and passing on this information in a comprehensive way not only prepares my clients for the roller coaster ahead as we embark on the buying or selling journey, but it gives you a distinct advantage when handling curve balls thrown from the cooperating side of the transaction. Borrowing from my design days, I’ve developed exercises and tools specifically for the real estate process - you will make decisions more confidently and joyfully, and I get the heart-warming satisfaction of knowing you had an amazing experience because you felt fully supported and truly prepared. If you’re ready to make your next move, or perhaps you’re still in the research stage, reach out - I would love to learn more!
